Horizontal form fill and seal flow-wrappers for packing a range of branded cosmetic products are packing between 30,000 and 50,000 units/day.

Repeat orders are always a sure sign that a company's products are among the best available Ulma Packaging was first approached by Creative Outsourcing Solutions International (COSi) in 1998 to supply a Florida model horizontal form fill and seal flow-wrapper

And that initial purchase proved so successful that it led to another, and to date COSi has no less than six Florida machines operating from its UK factory, packing a range of branded cosmetic products for one of the country's leading manufacturers.

The man behind COSi's tie-up with Ulma is plant manager Andy Mortimer, who cannot speak too highly of Ulma's products.

''We bought our first Ulma flow-wrapper because, quite simply, it was the best equipment around at the time for the job we had to do.

It was ideally suited to packing cosmetics in packs of three, which we handle for several leading makers." And since then, the Florida has remained out in front of the competition as far as Mortimer is concerned.

"That's why we keep going back for more, and as long as Ulma continue to deliver, we will keep returning when we need more machines.'' At the moment Ulma equipment is packing between 30,000 and 50,000 units a day at COSi.

''Around 20% of our total output of products is flow-wrapped,'' said Mortimer.

''And the Ulma machines handle the lot.'' The versatile Florida is proving a popular choice for many in the UK with its ergonomic design, quality construction and reliable operation.

It is designed to be easy to operate and clean, and its flexibility means it is an ideal choice across a number of sectors - including cosmetics, bakery, and fresh produce.

Different types of infeed conveyor, in a variety of lengths, are available to suit different operations and there is a stainless steel model available for use in wet environments.

Derek Paterson, managing director of Ulma's UK operation is delighted with the continued orders from COSi.

''This is the sort of thing any company is happy with.

It demonstrates we have got it right and are still ahead of the competition.

We are competing in a tough market place but we are determined to maintain our strong position in it.''.
