Blister packaging machine integrates operations
A leading packaging specialist is targeting the non-food sector with its latest blister packaging machine that integrates all operations necessary into one automatic line.
''And I liked what I learned on the telephone even more,'' said Mr Sutherland, who was really impressed when he first saw the Ulma equipment, ''so we decided on an Atlanta and have not regretted it".
"It really is doing the job very well, coping with everything we are throwing at it".
"And the operators are certainly enjoying the fact that it is very easy to use".
It is hardly surprising that Mr Sutherland should sing the Atlanta's praises.
It is one of the big success stories of the Ulma range; a horizontal packing system which has found huge favour in a number of different food-orientated markets, largely because of its high-speed operation and exceptional reliability.
Versatility is another of the Atlanta's keynotes, as are the machine's ergonomic design, which makes cleaning quick and easy, and the wide range of feeders which can be incorporated.
Its use of options like the HRX shrink tunnel, which Whitelink Seafoods has also installed, only serves to increase the Atlanta's capabilities further.
Certainly Mr Sutherland and those of his 100-plus workers who have to operate it are more than happy with the machine, and with the high quality of service they received from Ulma.
''Everything has been absolutely perfect, which will mean I will not hesitate to trust Ulma again next time we have a new packaging need,'' he said.
And with the opening of a new factory and distribution centre in Boulogne in the north of France - set alongside sales outlets in Spain and Germany - to go with the company's 3000 square-metre complex of EU standard buildings in the Scottish seaport of Fraserburgh, that day may be soon.
At Ulma there is satisfaction at the successful installation.
Sales executive Jason Knowles said: ''Whitelink told us just what they wanted and we provided it down to the last detail".
"We knew they had been shopping around and had been looking at what our competitors had to offer, but we were able to demonstrate that the Atlanta was perfectly suited to their needs".
