Inverted packing machine wraps irregular items
Recommended as the ideal choice for those who need to wrap irregular shaped or unstable products, an inverted packing machine offers increased efficiency and user friendliness.
Machine combines form, fill seal and vacuum shrink
Innovative machine designed for the fresh meat and cheese markets combines horizontal form, fill seal technology with vacuum shrink packaging.
This success comes on the back of a partnership project two years ago with one of the country's biggest producers of fresh chickens, where a new non water shrink packaging solution was developed on Ulma's Pacific SSF.
The inclusion of a stretch/shrink film unit, combined with a vacuum system in the new Pacific SSF, improves packing efficiency by reducing the air left in the pack prior to shrinking - resulting in a leak-proof pack and much improved seal integrity.
The system offers a greatly improved on-shelf appearance together with a reduced risk of contamination from leakage, keeping in line with the demands of supermarket buyers and consumers.
The result has been well received by poultry processors across the UK with sales at Ulma increasing strongly since the launch of the machine.
As well as excellent packaging results, the Pacific offers a modem link on the machine's electronics which enables remote fault finding from the Ulma factory helping to keep any downtime to an absolute minimum.
Ulma's UK director Derek Paterson said: "The Pacific SSF offers many outstanding features and allows producers to enhance the packaging of poultry.
Its performance and reputation is such that business has increased to the point that we believe about 75 percent of the whole fresh bird market is now wrapped using Ulma equipment.
He added: "We have won a significant number of new orders including 10 machines into one of the UK leading processors and a similar number at various sites across the country.".
