A CAD/CAM driven template-making machine has helped a woodworking machines specialist to improve its presence in the UK market.
The bearing is based around a SAE-840 insert with 25 per cent oil content in an Oilite bronze body.
The bearing is pivot mounted to provide the self-aligning characteristic for easy mounting and automatic adjustment for wear etc Its clean lined design makes particularly useful in food processing and other hygienic applications and means it sufficiently ethically pleasing to be used in situations where it will be clearly visible.
Unimatic has been responsible for introducing the Spyraflo bearing range to engineers in all sectors of British industry.
Product manager Jon Harding says: "Spyraflo do not produce 'me-too' commodity bearings, but specialist products that fulfil particular needs.
For instance their self-clinching bearings proved immediately popular because they can be fitted in minutes with simple tools, avoiding the complexities of alignment and precision mounting associated with most bearings.
"Once we realised that these products are attractive to just about every type of engineer we knew that we needed to find a distribution partner who would help us reach full potential," says Harding.
Ondrives distributes 25,000 precision mechanical drives components through its catalogue, CD and the web and is recognised as the foremost company in this field.
It has many initiatives to help it retain its premier position, including manufacturing its own gearboxes and undertaking research in house.
It has recently built an extension to its UK headquarters in Chesterfield, virtually doubling its available floor space, necessary as its web sales are opening up whole new areas or activity. Request free introductory details about products from Unimatic Engineers ...
