A development of the patented self-clinching and self-aligning bearings developed by Spyraflo in Florida the new high-temperature plain bearings are available in graphite bronze as standard and Teflon bronze for high load carrying capacity.
Applications that would benefit from these bearings include commercial ovens, particularly those in fast food establishments and institutional kitchens as in hospitals and schools, for instance.
Also, OEM equipment manufacturers often use a powdered paint process that heats surfaces to temperatures in excess of 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
That 'baking' process necessitates bearings that can withstand high temperatures.
Whilst standard Spryraflo bronze bearings can be used in temperatures reaching 380 degrees F (190 degrees C), the new line of high temperature bronze bearings can go up to 540 degrees F (280 degrees C).
For self-clinching, Spyraflo bearings incorporate a serrated flange and outer profile of the bearing, encouraging 'cold flow' in to the sheet metal as the bearing is pressed in to the material.
This simplifies the assembly process and results in a bearing that withstands shock, vibration and side load.
Additionally, a self-aligning capability ensures smooth shaft rotation.
The self-clinch, self-align design is available in sizes of 6, 8, 10 and 12mm (1/4in, 5/16in 3/8in and 1/2in).
They can also be clinched in to a standard two-bolt hole steel flange, forming a flange-mount with self-aligning capability, ready mounted and perfect for applications requiring subsequent replacement or adjustment. Request a free brochure from Unimatic Engineers ...
