An industrial grinder for processing entire blocks of frozen or fresh meat meets rigorous food hygiene standards thanks to its stainless construction and easy to clean highly polished surfaces.

Food industry equipment supplier UFM (Union Food Machinery and Equipment ) has launched an industrial grinder for processing entire blocks of frozen or fresh meat Manufactured by Austrian food equipment giant Laska, the WWB 200 SuperGrinder is the only one on the market to handle fresh and frozen products

With a maximum capacity of 1000 x 600 x 300mm blocks of frozen meat and greater for fresh produce, the product is well placed to help manufacturers meet the increased demands of the barbecue season.

"Spring brings increased consumer demand for burgers and other barbecue foods," explained Malcolm Burgess, managing director of UFM.

"Food companies have a range of strategies to address seasonal demands.

However, whether the company is adopting an MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) approach, tackling the problem using supply chain management and flexible working policies or employing another method, the SuperGrinder's high capacity will complement their tactics." A solid, specially moulded feed worm handles the preliminary chopping of frozen meat, while fresh meat is treated more gently.

The feed worm automatically regulates to ensure the optimum quantity of product is fed into the working worm.

As a result, frozen and fresh blocks of meat can be minced directly to 3mm in a single working process.

The machine meets rigorous food hygiene standards thanks to its stainless construction and easy to clean highly polished surfaces.

The feed worm can be removed for cleaning and the control system comprises a simple set of push buttons.

To further simplify manufacturing, the machine can be switched between frozen and fresh by simply changing the cutting set - no time-consuming worm change is required.

The SuperGrinder can be supplied with an optional hydraulic loading hoist capable of handling 200 litre trolleys.

Furthermore, in partnership with Laska, UFM is also able to provide complete systems and offer a range of options including cutting sets, disinewing equipment, safety cover and conveyor belt.
