UKIVA to work more closely with research
The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) is aiming to set up closer links with academic research institutions by making its research membership category free of charge.

Machine vision handbook revised
The UK Industrial Vision Association has announced that the latest revision of 'The Machine Vision Handbook' is now available as a 16 page PDF from the Association's website.
A number of facilities will be available to Research members.
A Research directory will be created on the UKIVA Web site, which will contain contact details and reciprocal links and a short report on the nature of the research being undertaken.
There will also be a separate listing of training courses offered by all classes of members.
UKIVA director, Don Braggins, said: "The Association is keen to encourage Universities to produce as many machine vision-literate graduates as possible and any way we can help promote the research activities will help towards that goal".
"Membership also gives research organisations the opportunity to communicate more closely with commercial organisations who are full members".
"In addition, it makes the UKIVA web site an even more informative portal for people who want to find out about vision.".
