The UK Industrial Vision Association will again be running a series of free seminars at the Machine Vision 2006 exhibition 2006, but at this particular show will also be presenting a seminar itself.

The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) will again be running a series of free seminars at the Machine Vision 2006 exhibition, 16-17 February 2006, but at this particular show will also be presenting a seminar itself.

As part of a seminar programme entitled 'Recent Advances in Imaging For Industry'.

UKIVA director, Don Braggins will make a presentation on 'Why vision has become more robust in the 21st Century'.

"The vision industry has come such a long way since it first emerged in the 1980s" explained Braggins.

"In the beginning, the vision industry 'borrowed' all its component parts - cameras, lenses, illumination sources, etc, from other industries.

Today, dedicated components, new interfacing standards and ultrafast processing speeds mean that components and systems are more robust than ever before and are routinely being integrated into production processes.

The Association has been in a unique position to monitor, and now report on this," he continued.

UKIVA members Alrad Imaging Firstsight Vision, FLIR Systems, FRAMOS, Multipix, National Instruments, SONY and V Cubed will be among those contributing over the two days of seminars at the exhibition, which is co-located with the IPOT and Display Technology shows.

As usual, places can be booked in advance on-line.
