Machine vision seminars staged at MACH
2008
'Why machine vision is now mainstream, reliable and cost-effective' is the overall theme of a series of seminars looking at the solving of manufacturing problems through machine vision.
The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) will be running its most ambitious programme of free seminars at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition With financial support from the Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network helping to fund the seminars, the overall theme will be 'Why machine vision is now mainstream, reliable and cost-effective'

The UK Industrial Vision Association has announced that the latest revision of 'The Machine Vision Handbook' is now available as a 16 page PDF from the Association's website.
Holistic vision seminars at show
The regular series of free seminars organised by UKIVA at IPOT (14-15 February, 2007, NEC, Birmingham, UK) will be taking on a Holistic Vision theme.
The seminars will concentrate on the totality of solving problems with vision, including optics and lighting, as well as cameras and software and other components.
There will be one programme on Monday and Wednesday and a different programme on Tuesday and Thursday.
Each programme will featue five seminars from UKIVA members Alrad Imaging, Firstsight Vision, FLIR Systems, Matrox Imaging and Multipix Imaging.
Friday's programme will be aimed primarily at the exhibition's exhibitors.
The seminars will take place in Hall 4 in the exhibition's 'Vision Inspection Zone', which will be a potential focus for UKIVA members exhibiting at the show.
UKIVA Director, Don Braggins, told manufacturingtalk.com: "The UKIVA committee received an extremely positive report on MACH 2006 from one of its members who exhibited there.
With so many potential users attending the show, the Association has responded by supporting MACH 2008 with the free seminars.
We will also have our own stand at the show to act as an advice centre for anyone interested in machine vision applications".
Full details of the seminar programme will be published on the UKIVA web site as soon as they are confirmed by UKIVA's participating members.
