Course aimed at removing balancing 'mystique'
Keen to dispel the perception of dynamic balancing as a 'black art', a day-long, introductory-level course gives a fundamental appreciation of the principles of of balancing.
They incorporate latest generation controls with intuitive, Windows-based touch screen operation.
The units also feature sophisticated work handling and high capability, medium frequency weld modules - to provide automatic measurement and correction in a single, high-speed production operation.
With cycle times of less than 60 seconds, the Unibal balancers typically achieve cycle times up to 50% faster than competitors' equipment.

Components dynamically balanced precisely
Using demodulated sine wave technology and latest touch screen Windows-based operation, balancing equipment is ideal for static or dynamic, high or low speed, hard or soft bearing applications.
At the heart of the new machines is the company's BTD-UNI 44 control system, which employs demodulated sine wave technology to provide instant results in up to four balance planes.
The system's advanced software not only determines the correction weight to be applied at each balance position, but also indexes the workpiece to the correct point for them to be secured by the automatic weld heads.
Machines can also be fitted with laser run-out monitoring units, as well as super-accurate tooling equipped with air sensing to confirm correct seating of components prior to cycle start.
The new Unibal propshaft balancers can be supplied with a variety of loading systems, ranging from manual component location at a pre-load position, to fully-automated twin conveyor systems suitable for high speed production environments.
In addition, Universal Balancing will custom-engineer any special tooling or additional work handling options to meet individual customer requirements.
"The flexibility and multi-plane measurement capabilities of these new machines have already generated high levels of interest within the propshaft manufacturing sector - both in the UK and overseas," says Universal Balancing's managing director, Steve Fowler.
"When combined with the system 's accuracy and fast cycle times, they make a highly cost-effective package.
I am therefore confident that we shall convert a number of these enquiries into firm orders in the near future." About Universal Balancing - a UK leader in industrial balancing technology, Bristol-based Universal Balancing offers a complete spectrum of manual, semi and fully-automatic balancing systems, including vertical and horizontal axis, soft or hard bearing equipment.
The company also provides a comprehensive contract balancing service for components ranging from a few grams to several hundred kilograms.
In addition, it will design, manufacture and install customised balancing solutions - including work handling and component manipulation modules - as part of high-speed, high-volume automated manufacturing lines. Request a free brochure from Universal Balancing ...
