One tool thread mills and chamfers
Recent additions to a tooling range include a tool that thread mills and chamfers in one operation and a cutter that mills exact 90 deg shoulders and high surface finishes on aluminium components.
Vargus Tooling UK, the Telford-based service orientated distributor of quality tooling for turning, milling, drilling, threading and grooving applications, as well as spindle nose tooling and hand deburring tools, has announced a series of product developments that reinforce the cost-effective and highly productive nature of its principal brands, including: Vardex indexable threading programme additions: * Innotool shoulder and end milling tooling for aluminium workpieces * Shaviv hand deburring tools - new to the Vargus Vardex thread milling and turning programme - for high quality threading, grooving and boring in diameters as small as 2.5 mm - are the innovative HeliCool-C and HeliCool-R products designed to further extend Vardex tooling's reputation for high-precision thread generation

Also new from Vardex is the HeliCool-R helical fluted thread mill with radial cooling, which has been developed to consistently produce high-quality holes when conventional through-coolant is ineffective.
It does this by directing coolant out of the sides of the tool (rather than through the centre) so coolant is directed in a controlled manner straight onto the cutting edge.
While this will be of particular benefit when thread milling high temperature alloys, another major benefit is that swarf pick-up on horizontal machining centres is eliminated.
Both HeliCool-C and HeliCool-R are available in diameters from 5mm to 10.3mm and are able to produce M6 to M12 bores.
Innotool is a world leader manufacturer of milling tools, and new from this stable is the Aluminator shoulder milling cutter specifically designed for producing exact 90 deg shoulders and high surface finishes on aluminium components.
Available with DIN 8030 adapter and in diameters of 50mm to 100mm with four-edged inserts and a choice of five different corner radii, Aluminator can also be supplied as an end mill with screw-type adapters in the diameter range of 25mm to 40mm.
