Multi-flute thread mill is
cost-effective
A multi-flute thread mill uses low-cost single-point inserts and six cutting edges to produce deep hole threads at highly-productive, economical rates.
Vargus has introduced the TMSD multi-flute thread milling cutter to produce deep hole threads at highly-productive, economical rates The cutter uses Vargus U and A style low-cost single-point inserts (for large and shorter pitches, respectively) that cover a wide range of applications
The TMSD cutters have up to six cutting edges and are available in cutting diameters down to 23mm and in pitches from 1.5mm up to 8mm.
It features through-tool cooling for fast chip evacuation and cool cutting.
With Weldon or cylindrical shank (the latter can be shortened when appropriate, to reduce the possibility of chatter), the tool is characterised by long, adjustable overhang for optimal stability, which is also enhanced by its 'reinforced' tool body.
TMSD shell milling inserts are also available from Vargus Tooling in an equally comprehensive choice of styles.
