Machining CAM expansion planned
Following its acquisition of the machining STRATEGIST CAM from NC Graphics, Vero has opened a new Technology Centre at Histon near Cambridge, UK, for its STRATEGIST development team.
Following their acquisition of the machining STRATEGIST CAM product from NC Graphics, Vero International Software has opened a new Technology Centre at Histon near Cambridge for their six strong machining STRATEGIST development team who joined Vero as part of the purchase Vero are developers of the VISI-Series suite of CAD/CAM software for the toolmaking industry and its purchase of machining STRATEGIST is part of its global expansion programme by both organic growth and through acquisition of complementary products and companies

The team at Cambridge is led by Steven Youngs, Technology Centre Development Director who is supported by Simon Bates, Garry Bodsworth, Ceri Jones, Martin Dunschen and Martin Callaway.
Collectively they made up the large majority of the machining STRATEGIST development team during their time at NC Graphics and to further increase the rate of development of the software solution, the Cambridge team is to be shortly joined by Simon Mullen who carried out development work at Parasolid, part of EDS PLM solutions for four years.
Since Vero acquired machining STRATEGIST at the end of October the pace of change has been so fast that Release 4.2 - which incorporates new native Parasolid features - is due to be launched to its extensive user base within the next few weeks, confirming Vero International Software's commitment to the continued development and support of machining STRATEGIST.
Gerard O'Driscoll, Research and Development Director for Vero comments: "In house development of CAM software for VISI-Series and machining STRATEGIST provides a massive leap forward in both the pace and direction of development for Vero, enabling us to supply a comprehensive end-to-end solution for tool design and manufacture both in the office and on the shop floor.".
