Mould and die software supplier ups
turnover 17%
Mould and die and press tool CAD/CAM software supplier has reported another year of significant growth with turnover increased by an impressive 17%.
VI Group, whose VISI-Series CAD/CAM software is a world leading design and manufacturing solution in the mould and press tool industry, has reported another year of significant growth with turnover increased by an impressive 17% from GBP 6.4 million in 2001 to GBP 7.5 million in the year ended December 31st 2002 VISI-Series is sold, supported and developed by the Group's wholly owned subsidiary Vero International Software with offices in the Stroud UK, Italy, USA, Canada, France and Japan along with 75 distributors in more than 35 countries

VI Group has invested heavily in the future expansion of the Vero business in the past year with significant landmarks including the purchase of the Machining Strategist 3D CAM business, the acquisition of its Canadian distributor to greatly strengthen the presence of VISI-Series in the North American market and the opening of a new direct sales and support operation in France.
VI Group has also successfully listed on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) to complement its UK AIM stock market listing.
In the USA sales have more than doubled in the year while other key markets such as Germany, Japan and Italy have also experienced growth.
Despite the engineering recession in the UK, the Group has continued to invest in Vero's operations, opening a new technical centre in Cambridge and a sales and technical support office in Nottingham.
Don Babbs, the chief executive of the VI Group plc comments; "In a very busy year for VI Group we have grown revenue faster than our competitors and against the background of a poor economic climate.
We have, as envisaged, taken part in the consolidation of the CAM market and invested heavily in the future expansion of our business where we are confident that product sales will continually to grow substantially," he explains.
