A new Italian superbike prototype has been designed and produced by Rondine Motor using the Visi-series product suite from Vero International Software.

A new Italian superbike prototype has been designed and produced by Rondine Motor using the Visi-series product suite from Vero International Software Filippo and Marco Nuccitelli founded Rondine Motor with the idea of wrapping quality and leading edge technology around a centre of human passion, experience and knowledge

They mixed their passion for motorbikes and their years of experience in the design and production industry to create this innovative model for the race track.

The frame and struts of the RRV1 are machined from blocks of aeronautical aluminium alloy and lightweight composite materials.

Components are held together using structural glues and titanium bolts to keep the weight down to just under 140kg.

The carbon-fibre fuel tank is found under the engine and the airbox, which fills the dummy tank, serves as a major structural part of the frame, adding strength but not weight.

The titanium exhaust has a very original curved design and is hidden under the Rondine's tail.

The frame can mount virtually any Ducati engine, from an air-cooled two-valver to a superbike-specification four-valve liquid-cooled version.

This flexibility allows riders the choice of engines to compete in different races with the same basic bike design.

Rondine Motor, based near Rome, have two CNC machine tools and stereolithographic facilities for the creation of various components and prototypes in aluminium alloys, titanium, steel and resins.

They quickly realised that they needed a CAM software solution in line with the design and production policies of their company.

The Nuccitelli brothers selected Vero International products primarily for their advanced functionality and simplicity of use.

Filippo Nuccitelli believes "It is not easy to find qualified CAD/CAM personnel and if the software does not have a simple and guided interface, it's difficult to limit learning problems and obtain optimum results in the short space of time we require".

"The benefits we've obtained to date are proof that we made the right decision" adds Nuccitelli "and the acceleration of the development process in our CAM department is thanks not only to the intensive hard work of our technicians, but also to the Vero specialists".

Creative design and innovative materials coupled with advanced CAD/CAM technology and the passion of the Nuccitelli family have given birth to this fine example of ambitious engineering, the Rondine RRV1.

Rondine Motor now plan to build a road-going version.
