Sixth annual VIA Technology Forum taking place in June in Taipei and Beijing to define the key elements of the digital lifestyle transition.

VIA Technologies, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, has announced that the sixth annual VIA Technology Forum will take place in Taipei from Wednesday 1st June to Friday 3rd June and in Beijing on Tuesday 7th June 2005, with the theme of "Enabling Digital Brilliance" The proliferation of digital convenience increasingly demands tailor-made innovation in both horizontal and vertical markets, requiring a new paradigm in system design and innovation

VTF2005 aims to provide direction and strategic insights on these market trends and showcase how platform innovation leads to exciting designs for the future, looking beyond the desire for the digital lifestyle to the development of practical implementations that will enable it.

"VIA is encouraging the IT industry to move from the concept of the digital lifestyle to real products to enhance the user's technology experience," said Richard Brown, Vice President of Marketing, VIA Technologies "Digital brilliance is the driving force behind the digital lifestyle, and VTF will see VIA and our key partners highlight the enabling technologies and platforms that will breathe new life into the development of computing and personal electronics." Building on the success of the past five years, VTF2005 is again designed in the form of an open forum, bringing together senior VIA executives, high level representatives of VIA's industry partners and experts from various industries.

This year VTF extends its program to comprise a three-day event in Taipei and a one-day event in Beijing, delivering a compelling program of keynote addresses, and presentations in three technology track seminars: Mobile Platforms Analyzing the ever-expanding role of mobile computing as notebooks require increasing functionality, while incorporating the latest advances in multi-media performance, compact design and ultra low power consumption.

High Definition Computing Platforms The PC platform is undergoing significant changes on all fronts, generating challenges and opportunities; this track brings together industry leaders to explore the future of fundamental building blocks such as processors, memory, storage, and motherboards, and the effect of change for the industry and computing platform.

Emerging Market Innovation Exploring the nature of multiple emerging markets - from the exciting new applications growing up around embedded platforms to the unique difficulties facing developing nations in bridging the digital divide - and analyzing the innovative strategies and technologies required to meet the challenges of these diverse contemporary markets.

Both events will also include a technology exhibition in the form of an on-site trade show, running alongside the seminar forums, providing industry partners with the opportunity to display and demonstrate their latest products, technologies and services.

By again hosting VTF Taipei during the week of Computex, with VTF Beijing on the following Tuesday, VIA will enables overseas partners, sponsors, customers and media to maximize their visit to Computex Taipei 2005.
