Visioneering UK has entered into an agreement with Faro UK to provide on-site measurement services for manufacturers in a wide range of industries, using Faro's latest technology Laser Tracker.
Coventry-based Visioneering UK, one of the country's leading partners to the automotive, aerospace and other industries in the design and manufacture of models, tools and fixtures, has entered into an agreement with Faro UK to provide on-site measurement services for manufacturers in a wide range of industries, using Faro's latest technology Laser Tracker Faro UK country manager, David Homewood, said: "Visioneering's expertise in a wide variety of manufacturing sectors will enable the company to offer an unrivalled on-site measurement service, to support Faro UK's sales team." Craftsmanship becomes car-building
The concept of craftsmanship is a 'hot topic' in the automotive industry at the moment as car makers strive to create new models that will have all-round appeal for buyers.
Assembly fixtures, tooling designed and built
A widely experienced engineering company handles full size styling and engineering mock ups, environmental cubes, assembly fixtures and tooling for prototype and production parts.
Using Faro's latest Laser Tracker SI.2 and portable co-ordinate measurement machines (PCMMs), Visioneering can accurately - up to 10 microns - inspect and measure large parts, machine tools and other objects on-site, in-process or wherever is most convenient.
It can also be taken to a supplier's premises to check part-finished components or assemblies against original CAD data prior to completion.
In cases where there is dimensional dispute between two parties, laser measurement can be used as the final arbiter.
Visioneering UK's chief executive, Brian Horner, said: "On-site laser measurement is a rapidly developing and valuable technology that can help manufacturers in a wide range of industries to ensure accuracy, repeatability and quality, and to reduce costs.
Visioneering has used laser measurement for several years to ensure the accuracy and quality of its own work in the automotive sector, and has employed FARO portable measurement equipment to assist its own customers.
Our agreement with FARO allows the company to bring on-site measurement within the reach of more engineering companies." Visioneering UK is an ISO 9001:2000 certified engineering services provider with an established track record in the design and build of turnkey programmes, and a strong reputation for effective project management.
