Platework punching/shearing works
unmanned
To automate the production of fittings, an automatic system has the infeed of flat steel from a stock system, as well as sorting of plates, so the punching/shearing system can operate unmanned.
For the production of fittings and diagonal trusses the delivery programme of Voortman offers several types of automatic production lines By using these machines the operator can place basic material lengths on the infeed roller conveyor with the hall crane or cross transport conveyors, after which the automatic cycle can start

System automates beams drilling for SMEs
Drilling system is designed for small and medium steel fabricators to automate the time consuming manual drilling process of beams and are limited by floor space in their workshop.
Shotblaster can be integrated with sawing/drilling
Especially developed for the surface treatment of beams and plates, a roller conveyor shotblast system can also be combined with a sawing and/or drilling system.
The products are dropped in a bin behind the shear or are transported on an outfeed roller conveyor.
To fully automate the production of fittings Voortman has an automatic system for the infeed of flat steel from a stock system as well as the sorting of plates, so the machine can produce without operator over a considerable period of the production cycle.
No operator needed for the production of fittings with V550 Punching/Shearing System - Voortman recently installed a new top of the range model of the V550 Punching/Shearing System on the market.

Storage system saves space at the shears
Stock storage system can sit next to a punching and shearing system so that the flat steel can be stored in a structured way and on a relative small floor surface.
Mitre saws have large steel cutting capacity
Mitre-cutting band saws were specially developed for processing structural steel and have a robust construction characterised by their large cutting capacity.
Plates and fittings loaded and CNC punched in one
With a CNC punching and shearing system the production of plates and fittings is fully automated by infeed system with drag-chain cross transports, an infeed roller conveyor and a length measuring.
This machine consists of a stock system provided with drawers and an automatic loading crane, which acts as a buffer zone and for the automatic infeed of material.
The stock is executed with 13 extendable drawers, each with a capacity of 20 tons of flat steel.
For taking the material out, the drawers are automatically selected and pushed to the front side.
An automatic loading crane with Electro-magnets positions flat steel from the material drawer onto the infeed roller conveyor.
When flat steel is positioned on the infeed roller conveyor it will be clamped by the pneumatic material gripper of the feeder truck and then transported through several production machines.
For manufacturing flat and angle steel the machine is provided with a vertical hydraulic punching machine with 10 punches and 20 dies, a numbering unit with 4 code discs each provided with 36 characters, a horizontal punching machine for angle steel and a hydraulic flat steel and angle steel shear.
As an optional extra a vertical drilling unit and a mitre cutting bandsaw can be added to the machine.
After the products are cut to length they will be transported by a conveyor belt and then automatically pushed into a preselected material bin.
The products can be selected in a material bin e.g on project name, phase and/or profile type.
The advantage of this method is that the production is carried out per profile type and the production of different projects can be combined.
Remaining pieces are automatically put back in the stock drawer by the loading crane.
The storage of new material in the drawers is also executed by the loading crane.
After the operator has put one or more stacks of flat steel on the buffer transport in front of the machine, the material is automatically placed in the desired product bin by means of the command 'clear'.
To enable this machine to produce at its most efficient it is also equipped with a system to take flat steel to the back side of the stock system.
The material is then placed onto an infeed roller for a punching and shearing system for the production of small batch quantities.
This can also be made with a sawing system so the production of channels and square sections etc can be carried out.
DSTV-files generated by 3D-CAD drawing systems are used for the import of products.
The operator can select and import different DSTV-files by means of the selection menu.
After the products are read-in, a production batch is made.
The production can be optimised so that products are placed in basic material lengths as economically as possible resulting in a minimum use of material.
To keep an optimum quantity of flat steel in stock an order advice can be generated automatically on basis of order data, minimum and maximum stock and order size.
It is also possible to generate an order advice on basis of a selection.
