Plates and fittings loaded and CNC
punched in one
With a CNC punching and shearing system the production of plates and fittings is fully automated by infeed system with drag-chain cross transports, an infeed roller conveyor and a length measuring.
Even more structural steel fabricators choose the Voortman V550 Punching and shearing system Although the V550 Punching and shearing system has been available in the delivery program of Voortman for many years, it still has very good sales world-wide and remains one of our most popular machines

System automates beams drilling for SMEs
Drilling system is designed for small and medium steel fabricators to automate the time consuming manual drilling process of beams and are limited by floor space in their workshop.
Platework punching/shearing works unmanned
To automate the production of fittings, an automatic system has the infeed of flat steel from a stock system, as well as sorting of plates, so the punching/shearing system can operate unmanned.
Due to the automation of the production process for companies becoming more important factor the Voortman V550 CNC Punching and shearing system is almost indispensable in today's production workshops of structural steel fabricators and steel stock holders.
With the V550 Punching and shearing system the production of plates and fittings is fully automated.
The punching and shearing line depending on specification can work unmanned for considerable periods.

Shotblaster can be integrated with sawing/drilling
Especially developed for the surface treatment of beams and plates, a roller conveyor shotblast system can also be combined with a sawing and/or drilling system.
Storage system saves space at the shears
Stock storage system can sit next to a punching and shearing system so that the flat steel can be stored in a structured way and on a relative small floor surface.
Mitre saws have large steel cutting capacity
Mitre-cutting band saws were specially developed for processing structural steel and have a robust construction characterised by their large cutting capacity.
The V550 Punching and shearing system as standard is fitted with an infeed system, a hydraulic punching machine and a hydraulic flat steel shear.
The infeed system consists of drag-chain cross transports, an infeed roller conveyor and a length measuring system with a feeder truck including pneumatic gripper (Not Pusher).
The operator places the starting material on the cross transport, eg by means of a crane, after which the automatic cycle is started.
The material is automatically transported into the punching machine after which the holes are punched and the products are cut to length.
After cutting the products are collected in a bin behind the shear.
Because the V550 is a modular system the machine can be extended with several options as desired.
For punching there are four options with one, four or ten punches.
For processing angle steel a horizontal punching machine and an angle steel shear can be added to the production line.
At the same time the system can be extended with an integrated single numbering unit or a numbering unit with four code discs for the imprint of identification markings.
For the automatic outfeed of long products the punching and shearing line can be provided with an outfeed system which pushes the products automatically onto a side stacking system.
For drilling and tapping a drilling unit with automatic tool changer can be added to production line.
For an unmanned production the V550 Punching and shearing system can be equipped with an automatic loading crane and a product sorting system.
Using the loading crane the starting material is placed automatically onto the infeed system which then processes the material.
After processing the products are automatically pushed into pre-selected material bins.
The products can be selected for example by project, phase and/or profile type.
At the same time the V550 Punching and shearing system can be combined with the Voortman V3000 Stock system, where the starting material is stored in material bins vertically.
The control system knows exactly which material is in which bins, so upon request or automatically the required bin is transported out of the stock system, the loading crane then picks the material up and places it on the infeed system of the V550 Punching and shearing system.
Now the products are automatically produced and transported, short lengths are put back in stock and used again if required.
In this way there can be produced fittings unmanned for a considered period up to 80%, which results in huge cost savings.
At the same time the operator can do other jobs, besides operating the machine.
Systems can be tailor made to suit all requirements, the choice is yours.
This level of automation even includes the use of mobile phones which can send an SMS message to the operator or shop manager to say the machine requires him, the machine can even be restarted by SMS if required.
