Voortman increases V600 drilling speed by 300%

A Voortman Automatisering BV product story

Voortman's V600 drilling system uses not only HSS drills but also carbide-tipped drills as a result of which the drilling speed has increased by at least 300%.

Voortman's V600 drilling systems have been improved in several aspects.

The drive of the drilling unit is a new design and the system is provided with an automatic tool changer.

Previously, frequency-controlled motors drove the drilling system.

In the new design these are replaced by servomotors and servo-drives.

Therefore, it is possible to use not only HSS drills but also carbide-tipped drills as a result of which the drilling speed has increased by at least 300%.

The new V600 is also fitted with an automatic tool changer.

The tool changer has capacity for five drills, which can be changed fully automatically.

With the previous model, drills had to be changed manually.

Now the machine can provide multiple steel profiles with the desired hole pattern.

The V600 is provided with a fixed drilling table and required floor space is reduced by about 50% compared with a three-spindle drilling system with infeed and outfeed conveyors.
