A range of HMIs has expanded to include enhanced features for improved integration with its wide range of PLC and PC based solutions for factory, process and building automation systems.

VIPA's TouchPanel range of HMIs has expanded to include enhanced features for improved integration with its wide range of PLC and PC based solutions for factory, process and building automation systems Now supplied with the Windows CE 5.0, open architecture XML operating system in a choice of the Core or Professional Plus versions, the TouchPanel range has options of MoviconX or zenOn 6.20 program editors and now includes high speed CAN (ISO 11898-2) in the 5.7in and 8.4in colour TFT versions as an alternative to Profibus DP which is available throughout the range

The VIPA TouchPanel range is based on the Intel XScale 520MHz processor with 6Mb of user memory and is available in a wide choice of monochrome or colour displays in 5.7in, 6.5in, 8.4in and 10.4in industry standard panels.

Attractively finished to complement the customers livery, the front-side is rated to IP65 and the robust die-cast aluminium housing features a patented fastening system for straightforward assembly.

Both CFCard II and MMC/SDCardSlots are provided for additional program storage and an extensive choice of serial communications interfacing includes RS232, RS485 and RS422 with fieldbus communications options of MPI, Profibus-DP/S and CAN.

Ethernet TCP/IP is included on all models allowing central data saving or project administration data exchange.

Depending upon the model, up to three USB ports provide access to peripherals such as barcode readers, printers and keyboards or may be used for Bluetooth and Wireless-LAN interfacing.

The expanded choice of Core or Professional Plus operating systems allows many more features to be added to HMI control and the alternative MoviconX or zenOn 6.20 editors enables the user to choose the most suitable programming and development software to match application requirements - in line with their own programming skills and resources.

The new CAN fieldbus option will also provide further flexibility with system integration.
