Measuring water vapour need not take days
Water vapour transmission meter can measure water vapour quickly and accurately to better than one part per million and is ideal for quality control systems as well as laboratory work.
Keep a check on water vapour problems
Water vapour is extraordinarily invasive and the wastage it causes cost UK businesses hundreds of millions of pounds each year so use of a digital water meter provides data in 30 min.
Although there are many causes of these, far and away the most common is water vapour penetrating through the packaging, albeit a blister pack, sachet, syringe, capsule or bottle.
Versaperm, a leader in water vapour measurement technology, has introduced an entirely new version of its WVTR (Water Vapour Transmission) meter to measure permeability of both materials and finished packages.
These can vary greatly with, for example, around 75% of a plastic or laminate's barrier ability typically being lost just by forming it into a blister.
The new MKVI WVTR meter can measure the water vapour permeability of almost any practical material and unlike conventional gravimetric measurements which take days or even weeks, it can produce results in as little as 30 minutes in some materials.
The meter offers highly automated computerised control and is capable of coping with several samples at a time, giving results that can be accurate it a few part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million).
A wide variety of options is available, depending on the needs of the materials under test, but a range of detectors, single or multi-sample systems and a range of measurement chambers can be supplied for testing samples from the size of a thimble up to a pallet load or even beyond! Different sensors can even be used to measure the permeability of a range of gasses.
Versaperm's WVTR meter is versatile, fast, reliable, gives highly reproducible results and can be used to test virtually all packaging types.
It also allows the temperature and humidity of the sample to be accurately controlled.
Results are clearly shown on the equipment's display and readings can be output digitally or to a chart recorder.
Versaperm also offers a laboratory testing service for companies who test too few samples to make the purchase of equipment viable.
