Safety and security products save money
Specialising in systems for safety, security and control for vehicles, plant and machinery, systems are tailored for industrial use and often pay for themselves on reduced insurance premiums alone.
Target audiences include UK police forces, airport authorities, fire brigades, local authorities and utility companies, along with builders, developers and other industrial concerns with sizeable on-site operations.
The product is being flagged up as being ideally suited for road barrier, dangerous area, emergency and crisis situation applications during the day, at night and in poor visibility and bad weather conditions.
Viking managing director Colin Bennett explains: "We already have an established pedigree as a recognised supplier of non-reflective barrier tapes and our move into reflective tapes, which are completely new to the UK market, will significantly enhance our presence in this fast-expanding arena.
"The major advantage of this innovative product is that because the barrier tape contains inbuilt refractive qualities it will show up clearly in the dark at long distances.
"Key messages and logos can be printed on one side of the tape.
This heightens the desired impact in a wide variety of situations where a highly visible caution, warning or direct instruction to members of the public is required - for example, crime, fire and accident scenes, no go and danger areas, building and other restricted access sites.
"We have introduced it to two of our key distributors, who are already reporting significant levels of interest.
We believe there is vast potential for this product in a wide diversity of market sectors".
The patented polyethylene low density reflective barrier tape is available from Viking in a number of colour combinations - red and white, blue and white, and black and yellow.
It comes in boxed rolls of standard lengths of 200, 250, 500 and 1,000 meters, widths of between 75mm, 100mm and 150mm, 50micron thickness and printing pitches - distance between reflective stripes - of 600-900mm.
