Tap holder eliminates synchronisation errors

A Walter GB product story

Designed to eliminate synchronisation errors in thread production on CNC machines, a tap holder provides a minimum length compensation of +/-0.5mm on pressure and tension.

Designed to eliminate synchronisation errors in thread production on CNC machines, and therefore extend tool life and improve surface finish, the new A 340 tap holder from Walter GB of Redditch provides a minimum length compensation of +/-0.5mm on both pressure and tension.

For use on machines with synchronous control where spindle dynamism and linear drives can create synchronisation errors with rigid tapping tools and result in reduced tool life due to unilateral flank wear, unclean thread flanks and thread profiles, as well as threads that are not true to gauge size, the A 340 tap holder is suitable for applications where the internal coolant supply is up to 50 bar.

ER collets are required for clamping (ideally, collets with the ER-GR square adaptor), and the range includes versions for 6mm to 10mm (NCT 40) and 6mm to 16mm (NCT 50).
