Cameras measure tooling without touching
Walter GB of Redditch has announced a new concept in low-cost, simple-to-operate, non-contact tool measurement with the Heli Toolcheck. The machine is designed for manual or automatic operation.
Accommodating tools up to 350mm long (300mm for face grinding) and 320mm diameter, the 11.5kW Helitronic Power offers rapid traverse rates of 15m/min in all linear axes and 120deg /sec on the rotational axes.
The machine is one of a series of five-axis Helitronic tool grinders available from Walter GB, which also supplies the Helicheck and Heli Toolcheck tool measurement machines, as well as the Woodtronic series of TCT saw blade grinding machines.
Whittingham says that the added financial benefits of unmanned, often lights-out, production routines generated by auto loading systems is adding to the increasing popularity of the range, with around 50 per cent of all machines now being supplied with such devices.
