TiN coated machine thread taps are cooled

A Walter product story

For threading holes up M36, a range of TiN-coated machine taps feature axial internal cooling for process-secure tapping of steels as well as short-chipping cast iron, AlSi and CU alloys.

Walter GB of Bromsgrove, UK, reports that the Titex Paradur HT taps now has longer versions in sizes up to M36 to thread even deeper holes at up to four times diameter.

With axial internal cooling, the TiN-coated Paradur HT ensures process-secure machining of steels as well as short-chipping cast iron, AlSi and CU alloys.

The tool's special flute geometry (3 deg rake angle) shortens chips and uses internal coolant to keep the thread clear.

The extra-long chip flutes and increased flank relief enable perfect chip transportation even in threads in high strength steels.

Also, with TiN coating, the tool provides long life at higher cutting speeds.
