As part of a major growth initiative the group has selected Wax Digital to help open new routes to market through electronic commerce, and to deliver an extensible platform to meet plans for future supply chain collaboration.
Wax Digital enterprise service bus (ESB) provides this platform, delivering seamless integration across the group's back-office systems to expose user information such as stock levels and enable the secure, automated processing of orders and acknowledgements.
Wax Digital Product Data Management (PDM) provides a single centralised repository for product information across the group, feeding Wax Digital WebShop to provide a range of tailored eCommerce channels.
The complete solution delivers:.
* A single, central repository of product data across the group's disparate operations.
* Integration with back-office systems to expose key business information.
* Multiple, rapidly configurable webshops for different vertical markets.
* An extensible platform able to meet Economatics' future plans for eProcurement and supplier collaboration.
"Electronic trade is a central part of our growth strategy for the group," said Angus Frazer, Economatics Chairman.
"By placing Wax Digital ESB at the heart of our IT infrastructure we are able to rapidly meet our short term goal of enabling customers to build and place orders electronically whilst also providing for a future in which we intend to electronically enable all aspects of our supply and demand chain".
