Flow drill screws replace BIW rivets and welding
Using flow drill screws rather than rivets or welding in BIW vehicle assembly, enables tough joints to be achieved faster and more efficiently, without affecting the strength or long term integrity.
The programs incorporate a wide range of key operating characteristics including torque, insertion speed and time, and angle and depth of insertion.
In addition, the C50S can be used as a complete control platform, from which to operate a variety of ancillary equipment required for the process of screw, rivet and nut insertion.
It has been developed for use with all Ethernet, Profibus, and CAN bus I/O systems.
Perhaps as importantly, the C50S has been designed to be simple to set up and operate, said Weber to manufacturingtalk.com.
It has clear on-screen menus and Windows based dialogues and graphical displays allowing line engineers and managers easily to create control and automation programs.
* Comprehensive monitoring and diagnostics functions - the C50S system provides comprehensive monitoring and diagnosis functions.
It provides the option of displaying multiple channels simultaneously, with each channel appearing in a dedicated window.
The C50S can also be used with a standard Web browser, enabling it to be configured and interrogated remotely by any laptop or PC with .net support installed, and also offers support for multiple languages.
The C50S allows complex automation programs to be created with up to 25 independent process steps.
Programs can be tested and monitored on-line or downloaded for separate analysis, with a range of statistical data functions being provided as standard.
* Modular system - the C50S is a modular system, comprising a compact control cabinet with optional touch screen display unit, which can be located remotely for ease of operation.
The system is backed by comprehensive technical and applications support from Weber Automatic Assembly Systems, with the company also offering a custom programming service.
