Fittings catalogue updated
To help manufacturers make the right choice, WDS has introduced a range of over 700 new standard parts. The items are featured in WDS' latest New Products Catalogue.
Twin vice systems double productivity
Two new twin vice systems from WDS enable companies producing machined parts to double their productivity by clamping two or more components at once.
WDS has introduced over 70 new lines to the stainless steel section in their latest catalogue in response to the increasing demands from manufacturers in the food and medical industry for tough and easy to clean fittings.
The range is especially helpful for companies wishing to upgrade current product lines for use in the food and health care industries by allowing them to purchase all the stainless components required quickly and cheaply from one source.
The new range is designed to give OEM manufacturers access to a comprehensive selection of fasteners and fixings that covers the smallest of components from plain washers to complicated, ready to install fittings.

Sourcing non-standard machine fittings
WDS is now offering a fast, problem-solving service to customers who require bespoke non-standard parts that are not in the WDS catalogue, and not available elsewhere.
Small magnet has a big pull on machine tables
WDS has introduced Mighty Mag to the UK, an innovative new device based on a small but powerful industrial magnet that has proved a big hit with engineers in the United States.
For example the range includes a series of heavy duty levelling castors with all stainless construction and super tough polyamide wheels that can individually hold loads up to 400kg.
They are ideal for making heavy pieces of equipment manoeuvrable and allow the objects to be easily fixed in location via a robust foot lever, making them ideal for clean environment applications such as food conveyors and medical trolleys.
For installing static pieces of equipment, stainless base pads with tough nitrile rubber inserts are also available, which can increase the accuracy of test equipment through reducing vibration.
WDS has also introduced a series of six different types of corrosion resistant adjustable levelling feet that are ideal for applications from measuring devices to laboratory equipment and allow an adjustment of 10ø for secure installation on uneven floors.
A choice of all stainless or stainless/polypropylene designs are also supplied allowing floors and surfaces to be washed down, preventing bacteriological build-up or product contamination through oxidation.
Other areas of equipment that are prone to corrosion and the accumulation of dirt are places where operators make regular contact such as handles or knobs.
To combat this, WDS has introduced six new ranges of all stainless handles that are useful for fitting on any equipment that has draws, cabinet doors or requires carrying handles.
For applications such as operating tables and laboratory equipment, there is a range of solid stainless machined knobs that allow for ergonomic and reliable fixing and adjustment operations.
A series of stainless based knobs, handwheels and grips are also available for applications where robustness has to be sacrificed for weight or cost reasons.
The versatile range features stainless inserts with Bakelite, thermoplastic or glass reinforced plastic bodies and offer similar levels of corrosion resistance to all stainless versions, but can be easily colour coded for clear identification.
When it comes to simpler components, WDS supplies all manner of nuts, washers, bolts, plungers, studs, screws, hinges and even springs in stainless steel.
If a customer requires something a little less standard, WDS offer a full design consultation 'Specials' service that can produce the best component for the application at extremely competitive prices and short lead times.
Their complete catalogue features over 10,000 standard parts and workholding products and is accessible online at www.wdsltd.co.uk where customers can download 3D files of standard parts to suit most currently supported 3D CAD packages. Request a free brochure from WDS ...
