WDS extends range of plastic components

A WDS product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 1, 2009

WDS has announced that it has extended its plastics components range.

According to the company, this collection features more than 70 new products with 320 variations available from stock at competitive prices.

Materials include Bakelite/Phenolic/Thermoset/Duroplast, Thermoplastic/Nylon and Polybutylene.

All new and existing lines fall within the following product groups: handwheels; fixed and revolving grips; crank handles; indexing levers, hand knobs and hand screws; control and indicator knobs; wing nuts and wing screws; tri knobs and tri screws; and ball knobs.

Free 3D/2D downloadable models are available online in most current formats.

Plastic components made from Bakelite have greater resistance to high temperatures and chemicals, meaning that these products perform well in food and pharmaceutical industries.

However, Thermoplastic/Nylon components have a low resistance in such environments, which makes them ideal for non-food and chemical applications.

The new clamping lever editions in the indexing lever collection present practical benefits to the end user.

Their ergonomic design features mean that levering is made easier because of their shape.
