Weiler brush added to abrasive filament line
Weiler has introduced the Burr-Rx brush to its Nylox abrasive filament product line.
Weiler said the Brr-Rx brushes utilise advanced filament technology, resulting in maximum aggression.
The black nylon filaments are co-extruded with ceramic grains, which the company said provide cut rates up to 400% faster than standard silicon carbide filaments and reduce cycle times by allowing the use of high feed rates and short dwell times.
This results in increased throughout and lower deburring costs, according to Weiler.
Burr-Rx brishes are produced with a two-inch bore, which allows them to be mounted in CNC machines directly onto a shell mill holder, without the need for adapters.
All disc brushes are manufactured using a process that results in a consistent, flat brush face in comparison to molded backed discs.
Weiler said the Brr-Rx composite metal hub wheels offer a 50% higher filament density than traditional metal hub brushes.
Constructed with a steel shell, the brushes provide dimensional stability to ensure consistent performance with minimal vibration during use.
Weiler said the ceramic grain Burr-Rx brushes are well-suited for deburring materials such as inconel, stainless steel and titanium and are also available in stem-mounted wheel, mini disc brushes and banded end brush configurations.
