Tubular SS and NF welding/brazing wires
introduced
Eight tubular brazing wires includes products for joining aluminium and its alloys, tubular wires for Al, SS and other alloys and silver wires for silver brazing and silver braze-welding.
A range of eight tubular brazing wires from French based FSH Welding Group is available through their sole UK distributor, Westbrook Welding Alloys in Warrington The range comprises an aluminium tubular wire (TBW HARASIL NC 12) for joining aluminium and aluminium alloys, 2 x zinc tubular wires (TBW ZINAL4 and ZINAL 30NCS) for joining aluminium, stainless steels and other alloys and 6 x silver wires (TBW2040 with cadmium, TBW5034, TBW5038, TBW5040, TBW5045 and TBW5056 without Cadmium) for silver brazing and silver braze-welding

Inverter power sources serve robotic MIG welders
ABB has developed ARCITEC II, a new generation of IGBT inverter power sources designed specifically for the robotic MIG/MAG welding of all materials used in metal fabrication.
Flexible robotic welding cell takes larger pieces
A new modular, flexible robotic arc welding system is designed to accommodate larger workpieces, which can be welded in a fixed position.
The features of these products is that they are made from seamless tubular wire, which ensures a consistent flux to wire ratio plus less flux is required, labour costs are reduced because no flux has to be applied separately, the quality of joints is improved and no post-braze cleaning is required reducing water contamination.
These new tubular brazing wires have been designed for use in both manual and automatic brazing applications including steel and copper piping, reparation and maintenance on treated steels, automotive production and repair, electrical household goods, heating and ventilation, refrigeration installation and repair as well as precision brazing and medical/optical applications.
For manual operations they are available in diameters ranging from 1.5mm - 6.0mm in 500mm lengths packed in 5kg packets and advantages of use include no manual contact between the operator and the flux, they also provide the user with the combined advantages offered by soft and hard coatings plus less heat input is required compared with solid wires.
Other features include reduced fumes and a smooth flux flow at the tip of the wire before the metal is melted.
For automatic use these wires are available from 1.6mm - 3.0mm wire diameter on 0.5 - 7kg spools.
The latest tubular technology and their uniform diameter allow consistent feeding on available wire feed systems and being seamless no problems will occur when in contact with the drive rollers.
The user is able to regulate the amount of flux being used through the wire feed speed to meet the requirements of the application and using less heat input makes them economical to use.
Other pre-form shapes are available including rings from 1.6mm - 3.0mm diameter and 5-20mm interior ring diameter.
