As well as demonstrating the Renishaw Revo probe in action on a CMM at MACH 2008, Wenzel will show a compact laser line scanner for reverse engineering or CAD comparison.

Wenzel UK will be showing the Renishaw Revo Scanning Probe in action on a Wenzel LH series co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition Wenzel said it has invested in substantial R and D with Renishaw to ensure that the Revo Renscan Technology is fully integrated with the Wenzel hardware and the Wenzel Metromec software using its I++ DME interface

Wenzel UK and Ireland sales manager, Martin Hawkins, said: "The Revo scanning head and associated technology is one that will become part of our technology and innovation focus during 2008.

We have a number of current and potential customers who will be able to benefit from this technology and the substantial savings that can be made using this probe".

Hawkins added: "the installation of the Revo Scanning Head after MACH at our Gloucester demonstration facility is part of our commitment to enable this technology to be fully reviewed and benchmarked by our current and future customers".

* Compact laser scanning system - Wenzel UK will also show its 'Scan and Go' compact laser line scanner with associated Pointmaster software.

Wenzel told manufacturingtalk that 'Scan and Go' is an extremely economical way to non-contact scan and process work piece data for reverse engineering or comparison with nominal CAD files.

The Pointmaster software package is integrated into the system so that users can produce surface models or compare the point clouds to nominal CAD data.

The novel feature of 'Scan and Go' is that it does all this work at less than half the price of its competitors, claimed Wenzel.

Hawkins said: "'Scan and Go' is a milestone on non contact scanning, it provides both the hardware and all of the associated software at an extremely competitive price, but with a host of technological benefits".

Wenzel UK's managing director, Andy Woodward, said: "'Scan and Go' will enable a greater range of customers to access this technology that has so far been very cost prohibitive, we welcome the opportunity to show new and current customers how they can benefit from 'Scan and Go' when they visit us at MACH 2008".

* Wenzel at MACH 2008, NEC, Birmingham, UK, April 21-25, Hall 5, Stand 5619.
