Automation supplier renews QA accreditation
Automation and materials handling supplier Wittmann UK has renewed its accreditation to the ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance standard.
The enhancements are available at no additional cost to the customer and can save energy bills by up to 30% as well as protecting expensive polymers such as PET, ABS and polycarbonate from ingress of moisture.
The SmartRegen function reduces the time required for the regeneration phase of the desiccant beds to an absolute minimum, reducing energy consumption for optimum performance.
The new system monitors the temperature differential between the incoming and outgoing air - to and from the desiccant beds respectively - and allows the heating phase of the regeneration cycle to be kept to a minimum.
As soon as the temperature data indicates a completely reactivated desiccant bed, any heating is stopped and the cooling phase initiated.
Resulting energy savings are anticipated in the range of between 5 to 30%.
Other standard Wittmann features include monitoring of the blower motor rotation direction and error messaging to ensure proper airflow and function of the dryer.
All Wittmann units feature double-wall stainless steel insulated integrated hoppers in order to minimise moisture absorption and increase energy savings.
All units are also equipped with a full evacuation take-off box and a mount design is also available for applications requiring a machine mounted hopper.
Wittmann Drymax dryers are available with either a single hopper for single material applications or dual hoppers and individual temperature controls for two material applications.
Throughputs for the Drymax 60 and 100 series portable dryers range from 16 to 63kg/h depending on the specific resin and its drying requirements.
