An automation and plastics material handling supplier, Wittmann UK, has recruited Mark Hosty as sales engineer to further expand its sales efforts.

Wittmann UK, the UK's leading automation and plastics material handling supplier, has appointed Mark Hosty to the position of sales engineer for the Midlands and the North.

Barry Hill, Wittmann UK managing director said that: "Growth in demand for Wittmann plastics materials handling solutions - dryers, conveyors, automated control and other elements - is spurring Wittmann UK growth and has triggered the need to grow our sales effort even further.

Hosty has experience in both plastics processing and in sales of capital equipment: He was most recently UK sales manager for with injection moulding machinery supplier Stork Plastics Machinery.

Hosty's qualifications include an HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.

He also enjoyed a lengthy spell as senior technician at leading packaging company Huhtamaki UK.

Hosty's niche technical expertise includes the moulding in the plastics packaging sector and In Mould Labelling (IML) projects.

Wittmann UK used leading recruitment and human resources company, Listgrove UK, to help fill the vacancy.

Listgrove's Mark Guest commented that: "Listgrove's expertise within the plastics machinery sector made us an ideal partner to identify Mark as the most suitable candidate for this role - his skills were apparent from an early stage".

"It has been a pleasure in working with Barry and the Wittmann UK team.

Hill said that: "We hope and expect that Mark will develop his sales engineer skills and commitment to the level of that practiced by Paul Dummer and others at Wittmann UK.

We have sector-beating products and leading technologies in all areas of materials handling and automation and there is every reason to expect further growth in the Midlands and the North of the UK.

Wittmann UK supplies a range of fully integrated materials handling systems, including dryers, blenders, vacuum loading systems, silos, central filters, vacuum receivers; tilt tables and surge hoppersdryers, and temperature controllers.

A key goal of the company is to help plastics processors achieve high production and low-maintenance goals of 'lights out' production and remote controlled factory operations.

Wittmann's control equipment for materials handling is also key here and the next generation of its M7-Touch materials handling network control system - the M 7.2 - is starting to make waves in UK as the industry's best.

"After Easter," said Hill, "We expect to be talking about the successful installation of the M 7.2 system in a number of leading UK processors.

The take up has been fast and the feedback has been phenomenal.
