Vee tool forms and bends in CNC punch
presses
Spring loaded cylindrical vee form tool allows CNC punch press users to integrate bending operations such as radius, square flaps or hinge forms up to 25mm high by 25mm wide during the punching cycle.
With the development of Ready Bender by Wilson Tool International of Swindon, users of CNC punch presses can now integrate certain bending operations such as radius, square flaps or hinge forms up to 25mm high by 25mm wide during the punching cycle that would normally require a second production operation on a press brake The Ready Bender tool comprises a spring loaded cylindrical vee form tool that is mounted in the D-station of a turret punch press and in its operational cycle, is free to roll in a semi-circular base

Coated tooling available for Wiedemann presses
Wilson Tool International has launched a new range of turret punch press tooling specifically to suit Murata Wiedemann machines.
The top tool, which acts in similar fashion to the punch on a press brake, has a relief to clear the return flange created on the component.
As the top tool contacts the material, it rolls the bottom vee form in its base holder against spring pressure.
To complete a 90deg bend for instance, it overbends to 92deg to account for any springback of the material being processed.
Mild steel sheet up to 3mm thick can be formed by the tool and in a turret machine having a high form station the maximum height of the bend is 16mm.
For a single head punch press such as a Trumpf, this can be extended up to 25mm and by repositioning the material under the tool, longer lengths of the formed shape can be completed.
