Brush reduces punch press sheet positioning noise

A Wilson Tool product story

A brush adaptor that surrounds the die on Trumpf style punch press tools and multi tools eliminates any metal to metal contact between the sheet material being processed and the tool die.

Wilson Tool International has developed a brush adaptor which surrounds the die on all Trumpf-style punch press tools, including multi tools manufactured by Wilson Tool, that eliminates any metal to metal contact between the sheet material being processed and the tool die.

As a result, noise generated during sheet positioning is significantly reduced and marking and scratching of the material is eliminated around the tool area largely caused by the vacuum slug removal system fitted as standard to the machine.

The Wilson Tool Brush Die Adaptor, which is available in size 1 and 11, eliminates any contact between the material and the die right up to the point of punching.

This is achieved by allowing the sheet to run over a series of brushes mounted around a circular collar that is located adjacent to the face of the die.

In order to maintain the level of surface contact between the brush and the sheet material, for instance to cater for wear of the brushes, this can be reset through a simple shim adjustment.
