Durable steel raises punch wear resistance

A Wilson Tool product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 4, 2006

For demanding punching applications that require long-term wear resistance and toughness, tooling made from Ultima Premium Steel can increase wear resistance by up to 100%.

Wilson Tool recently launched a new range of tooling made from Ultima Premium Steel, the solution to demanding applications requiring long-term wear resistance and toughness.

Ultima punches and dies are engineered to increase wear resistance by up to 100% over conventional tool steels.

Ultima sets a new benchmark for durability and performance and excels in applications in which punches and dies wear quickly such as when punching particularly abrasive materials and those with high tensile strength.

With up to twice as long between re-grinds, Ultima premium steel significantly reduces down time and tool replacement costs.

Breaking, chipping, cracking and tool fatigue are minimised, providing long term gains in productivity and profitability.

Available for HP Thick Turret tooling and Trumpf 241 Series punches, Ultima is especially useful for the toughest applications, but is effective in any job.
