Support team advises arc welding users

To demonstrate equipment, help, advise, train and educate customers on correct welding process and equipment selection a supplier has formed a welding technical support team.

Wilkinson Star industrial equipment supplier has formed a new 'Welding Technical Support Team'.

The team will demonstrate equipment and help, advise, train and educate customers on the selection of the correct arc welding and cutting process and equipment.

The team comprises product demonstrators and specialist support service engineers.

They will cover the whole of the United Kingdom under the control of Alan Smith as operations manager.

The 'Welding Technical Support Team' offers support and back up to the national sales and service operation.

All of Wilkinson Star product demonstrators are career welders and fabricators having served their apprenticeships and gained experience in welding and fabrication shops.

They are all very experienced in the use of all welding processes including MIG, TIG, MMA, plasma-arc and electrical resistance welding.

Smith said: "The technology used in the construction of even some basic machines has changed a great deal in recent years and controls can seem somewhat daunting even though they have been developed to make the welding process less complicated.

Our 'Welding Technical Support Team' has been set up to help companies and their welders to select and purchase the right machine to fit their applications by means of demonstration and technical support.

All our team members have hands-on experience as welders and fabricators with extensive knowledge of all the welding processes and the equipment that should be used.

This is not new, as this kind of service was provided as standard 30 years ago but declined as the high volume welding market disappeared.
