Power source serves automatic TIG welding

A Wilkinson Star product story

At MACH 2008, Wilkinson Star launched its Sound TIG AC/DC 4560/T inverter based synergic pulsed robot power source for use in automated TIG welding.

Sole UK representative for Cebora welding products in the UK, Wilkinson Star launched the Sound TIG AC/DC 4560/T inverter based synergic pulsed robot power source for use in automated TIG welding at the UK MACH 2008 machine tool show last week.

Complete with a water cooling unit, the 400V 50/60Hz power source for use with most branded industrial robots can also be used as a 'stand alone' unit for TIG and MMA welding.

It has a 13.3kVA at 100% input power and is rated 320A at 100% duty cycle and 360A at 60% duty cycle.

The power source has an infinitely adjustable current range between 10-360A.

The Sound TIG AC/DC 4560/T inverter can operate with a continuous consumable TIG (cold wire) wire supply using a wire power supply kit installed in the power source.

A WF4-R3 (TIG) standard four roll wire feed unit and a 15kg wire spool holder are included, which are easily attached to a welding robot.

An analogue interface enables the user to access all the system's TIG welding parameters and is suitable for all industrial welding robots.

An optional robot simulator allows a complete test of the communications between the robot and the power source's robotised TIG welding system software.

An analyser is also available to monitor all the welding parameters, so that data can be downloaded using a USB connection, said Wilkinson Star.
