For serving the MIG/MAG/TIG/MMA welding processes, Wilkinson Star has introduced a compact, inverter based power source models rated at 300A.

Wilkinson Star launched the Cebora Sound MIG 3240/T Pulse compact power source at last week's MACH 2008 UK machine tool exhibition The Cebora MIG 3240/T Pulse inverter based synergic pulsed MIG/MAG/TIG/MMA compact welding power source is one of an existing range of MIG Pulse welding power sources which includes 400A and 500A models with separate wire feed units and compact single phase 200A model

The multi purpose 300A power source is a three-phase 400V machine rated 250A at 100% duty cycle and includes a four roll aluminium wire feeder.

Wilkinson Star told manufacturingtalk that the power source is ideal for general fabrication work, where 1.0mm mild steel or 1.2mm aluminium wires are used.

The power source also has a wide range of synergic programs installed as standard covering a comprehensive range of wire sizes and material thicknesses.

Customised programs can be installed using a simple upgrade procedure through the RS232 port.

The control panel is easy to use and self explanatory, said Wilkinson Star, allowing the user to select the following.

* Welding process.

* The correct application from customised programs.

* The required synergic welding program.

* Material thickness before welding.

* Gas test and wire inch facility.

As an option a double pulse model is available or can be retrofitted.

Cebora's new 6m water cooled 350A at 60% duty cycle, push-pull welding torch can be used with this power source, said Wilkinson Star.
