A Wilkinson Star product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 16, 2008

Wilkinson Star's ebora Sound MIG 3240/T Pulse inverter-type arc welding power source operates MIG/MAG/TIG and MMA (stick welding) processes.

Wilkinson Star's Cebora Sound MIG 3240/T Pulse compact power source is a multi-purpose, inverter based synergic pulsed MIG/MAG/TIG/MMA unit.

It completes the company's range of MIG Pulse welding power sources, which includes 400A and 500A models with separate wire feed units and compact single phase 200A model.

* Multi-purpose unit rated at 250A - the multi-purpose 300A power source is a three-phase 400V machine rated 250A at 100% duty cycle.

It is supplied with a four-roll aluminium wire feeder.

Wilkinson Star informed manufacturingtalk that the Cebora Sound MIG 3240/T Pulse is ideal for general fabrication work, where 1.0mm mild steel or 1.2mm aluminium wires are used.

It also has a wide range of synergic programs installed as standard covering a comprehensive range of wire sizes and material thicknesses.

Customised programs can be installed using a simple upgrade procedure through the RS232 port.

Wilkinson said that the power source's control panel is easy to use and self explanatory.

It lets the user select the following.

* Welding process.

* Correct application from customised programs.

* The required synergic welding program.

* Material thickness.

* Shielding gas test and wire 'inching' facility.

As an option a double pulse model is available or can be retrofitted.

It is also possible to use Cebora's 6m water cooled 350A push-pull welding torch, rated at 60% duty cycle, with this power source.
