Using CO2 as a trace gas, a leak tester can test any package directly after the packaging process - the tested product can be returned to the packaging line as the test is non-destructive.

Witt Gas Techniques, the Warrington, UK-based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier has produced a six-page leaflet 'How much do customer returns cost you?' detailing their Leak-Master range of equipment for simple and effective testing of the leak-tightness of packages packed using modified atmospheres (MAP) Using CO2 as a trace gas, Leak-Master can test any package for leaks directly after the packaging process, the tested product is not affected by the testing procedure and can be returned to the packaging line as the test is non-destructive

The leaflet provides details on the complete range of equipment available including one for testing up to 1,5 litre bottles, as well as 'Leak-Master Inline' a fully automated leak detector and 'Pack-Vac' for manual testing based on water without the need for a trace gas.

Leak-Master can be used on both flexible and rigid packaging and various chamber sizes are available for use with individual packs or complete boxes.

They are easy to use and Witt's Control-Software enables users to document all measurement data, including; date, time, product details and inspectors name for their quality control systems.

Using Ethernet, Leak-Master can be integrated into a computer network and thanks to WLAN, even wirelessly.
