Witt Gas Techniques has an extensive range of safety equipment available for users of thermal lances, where iron is burnt in an oxygen environment creating a very high temperature for cutting.

Thermal Lances are used to cut through all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, refractory materials such as linings and bricks, underwater cutting of metal tracks, bridge supports as well as concrete or rock structures where it is used for piercing holes.

Witt Gas is able to supply equipment for the complete safe supply of oxygen to lances with remote control start and stop as well as controlled pressure increases.

The comprehensive range of individual safety equipment comprises safety lancing valves with and without a lever control, lance holders with and without non-return valves and thermal cut off, pressure and control regulators, ball valves, hose reels and hoses as well as safety devices for protection against reverse flow of gases and flashbacks.

Also available are complete pressure regulating stations and quick couplers.

A spokesman for Witt Gas Techniques said: "The correct use of safety equipment when using a thermal lance is very important especially as the temperature in the centre of the combustion zone can reach approx.

4000 degrees Celsius, greater than the melting point of any substance on earth.

Concrete melts at 1800 - 2500 degrees Celsius and steel at less than 1500 degrees Celsius, so safety is paramount.

We have many years experience in the design and supply of equipment for the safe handling of all types of industrial gases used in welding, cutting, furnace treatment, glass making, laser technology and other specialist applications.
