WLT director Mike Essler, is delighted with the latest distribution contract.
''It will make the Italian flair of AL.MA and their robustly-built thermoforming machines available to the UK market for the first time,'' he said.
Each machine is manufactured to order.
''This way they are customised to meet the exact requirements of each customer,'' said Essler.
''They come in several difference sizes and are very competitively priced.'' AL.MA's research and development work over the last 15 years has resulted in a range of thermoformers for packing a variety of products for a number of different industries.
''The company has built a first-class reputation in the form fill and seal market, one which is constantly growing thanks to its technical development programme and its after sales service,'' said Essler.
''AL.MA generally comes up with products which are avant-garde but still completely competitive.'' Care is taken to use only the best materials, including anodised aluminium and stainless steel, which helps to give the range its reputation for reliability and endurance, even when placed in the most difficult working conditions.
Manufacturing is done in AL.MA's modern, 32,000m2 factory near Como where the latest technology is employed to ensure top quality mechanical parts are produced for assembly by experienced engineers.
Flexibility and versatility are two of the machines' keynotes and attention to detail is another plus point.
Each function of the machines is checked by a microprocessor capable of controlling and changing the process parameters.
An automatic diagnostic system ensures optimum production times are maintained and the machines can thermoform both rigid and flexible materials.
WLT will concentrate initially on persuading the medical and industrial packing markets of the benefits of buying AL.MA.
And sales are expected to receive a big boost shortly.
Mike Essler says: ''WLT will be offering a food packaging derivative of the AL.MA machine later in the year which we expect will arouse great interest in this growing UK market sector.''.
