Cutters make light work of hard materials
Tool life when cutting hard materials up to 70 HRc is greatly improved, thanks to the development of a PVD-multilayer coating used on solid carbide milling cutters.
All of which has been achieved while maintaining the highest quality in terms of raw material, coating technology and manufacturing processes.
The result is a range of inserts used by virtually every metalcutting company at prices up to 58% less than list price.
"At WNT it is our stated aim to deliver the highest possible quality at the best possible price and the Plusline ranges of turning and milling inserts are prime examples of how we are achieving this," says Tony Pennington, Managing Director of WNT (UK).
"These are the most popular inserts and the savings in unit costs, combined with the productivity improvements that our technical sales engineers can deliver, are unmatched in the UK." The turning range is available in two carbide grades HD 225 and HD 235.
The former is suitable for machining steel while the latter is ideal for machining stainless steel.
In both cases a multi-layer TiN+TiCN+Al2O3+TiN coating enhances the performance of the insert.
The milling range benefits from a choice of six carbide coated or uncoated grades ranging from ISO P20 through to P40.
This combination allows inserts to be matched to a specific application when machining steel or stainless steel.
A cutting speeds up to 220m/min is possible when milling and up to 140m/min when turning, both figures relating to the machining of stainless steel.
As with the majority of WNT's 45 000 tooling products the Plusline range is available for guaranteed next day, mid-day delivery on any orders placed before 18:30h. Request a free brochure from WNT (UK) ...
