Innovative part-off tool changes inserts
rapidly

As well as emphasizing service and suport, WNT will be showing an innovative parting-off/grooving tool, whereby that allows rapid changeover when an edge becomes worn.

Central to the 280m2 WNT stand at this year's EMO exhibition is the theme of service and support and the company will be taking the opportunity to highlight its 'Total Tooling Online' e-shop concept Initially launched in Germany, the e-shop will be available in the UK from September and will be rolled out to the rest of Europe shortly after

The ability to purchase online will dramatically assist WNT's customers who will now have 24/7 access to the 45,000 products within the current catalogue.

Continuing the service theme, WNT will be explaining how its Toolservice system can reduce tool inventory and tool costs, and improve productivity by ensuring the correct tooling is always where it is needed - on the shopfloor.

Tool vending is fast becoming the accepted method of distributing tooling, as it provides a cost-effective method of control, and the information provided by the system is proving invaluable to those companies already using WNT's Toolservice machines.

A product range as extensive as WNT's guarantees that there will be many new developments to see on stand A42 in Hall 4.

Key among these, though, is Maxiclick, which takes a whole new approach to parting and grooving.

Using an innovative insert design, whereby several inserts are joined together, Maxiclick allows rapid changeover when an edge becomes worn.

The worn edge is moved forward in the toolholder and the blade is then re-clamped.

The worn portion is then simply broken away, using the reverse of the tightening key, in a similar fashion to a craft-type knife blade.

The system offers several advantages, including reduced setting time, extremely narrow blades down to 1.0mm, and a compact design for applications where space is limited.

It also makes possible multiple part-off/groove/turning operations.

Maxiclick is another example of how WNT has developed its product range to provide manufacturing companies with a complete tooling solution.
