Novel approach made to parting and
grooving
A revolutionary parting and grooving system has had an instant effect on the 'bottom line' for numerous customers by providing savings in tooling and raw material costs.
WNT's evolutionary Maxiclick parting and grooving system has had an instant effect on the bottom line for numerous customers by providing savings in tooling and raw material costs Maxiclick's innovative design, whereby several inserts are joined together, allows rapid changeover when an edge becomes worn

Precision boring tools perform roughing, finishing
Precision modular boring tools provide users with roughing and finish boring capability through an extensive range of modular couplings and extensions.
Cutters make light work of hard materials
Tool life when cutting hard materials up to 70 HRc is greatly improved, thanks to the development of a PVD-multilayer coating used on solid carbide milling cutters.
The worn edge is moved forward in the toolholder and the blade is then re-clamped with a repeatability of +/-0.025mm.
The worn portion is then simply broken away, using the reverse of the tightening key, in a similar fashion to a craft-type knife blade.
One benefit of the design is that inserts can be manufactured with a narrower profile than conventional part-off systems.
Merseyside-based volume turned parts manufacturer Bryken has saved the equivalent of one bar of material being able to reduce the insert width by 0.5 mm compared to its previous part-off system.
Bryken has also increased the number of parts produced per insert from 1500 to 6000.
"As you would expect Maxiclick is extremely price competitive," says Adrian Fitts, business development manager at WNT (UK), "And we are offering a 40% saving per cutting edge compared with the current market leading part-off insert.
When combined with the savings realised through the quick and precise replacement of the cutting edge, reduced setting time, and the highly productive cutting geometry, Maxiclick offers a viable alternative to conventional part-off and grooving technology." WNT is utilising its recently developed CCN 1340 grade of carbide which combines high toughness with wear resistance, making it ideal for stainless steel and heat resistant materials.
The inserts range in width from 1.5mm to 2.5mm and a range of five toolholders caters for a variety of machine types.
In brief, Maxiclick provides a compact, precise and cost-effective method of parting and grooving, reduced set-up times, deep groove capability and optimum swarf control. Request a free brochure from WNT (UK) ...
