End mills cut steel at 250m/min

Among new tooling on display at the UK's Midlands Manufacturing will be a range of solid carbide end mills that allow cutting speeds of up to 250m/min and feedrates up to 0.55mm/tooth in steel.

WNT (UK) will continue to promote its ability to supply the latest in precision cutting tools combined with a level of technical support that is second to none at Midland Manufacturing, which takes place at the Ricoh Stadium, Coventry, on 15-16 March 2006 These regional manufacturing exhibitions have proved very successful for WNT (UK) as they re-emphasise the company's service driven approach to supplying industry

Its team of 26 technical sales engineers are strategically located in all of the main manufacturing centres in the UK.

They are supported internally by a technical support team and an investment in logistics that can deliver any of the company's 45 000 product lines to the majority of UK business addresses next day, before noon - guaranteed.

Technical support and service are only part of WNT's success, though.

The product range is made up of the highest quality cutting tools and includes indexable insert tooling, solid carbide and a wide range of associated equipment such as tool and workholding.

Among the new products on display at Midlands Manufacturing will be the HPC range of solid carbide end mills.

Thanks to a variable pitch geometry, that reduces natural harmonics, the use of extremely tough sub-micron grain carbide, and the development by WNT of the silver coloured, chromium-based Ti 1010 coating with an HV hardness of 3600, cutting speeds of up to 250m/min and feedrates up to 0.55mm/tooth are achievable when cutting steel.

Visitors will also be able to discuss Total Tooling Online, WNT's new online purchasing system that successfully combines WNT's conventional catalogue with state-of-the-art software and web technology to deliver an online catalogue and ordering system that sets a new standard for manufacturing supply.

Total Tooling Online is already providing WNT's customers, who tend to be small to medium sized businesses, with a level of customer support normally reserved for major OEMs.

This new offering is further enhanced by the ongoing expansion of WNT (UK)'s team of external and internal technical sales engineers.

"Exhibiting at events such as Southern Manufacturing and its sister exhibitions allows us to discuss our philosophy directly with the many small to medium sized sub-contractors that are the backbone of UK manufacturing but all too often they are not getting the service and support that they need." says Glenn Stanton, WNT's UK and Ireland sales manager.
