Face milling cutters replace grinding
operations

Face milling cutters that eliminate many grinding operations feature through coolant and twin, face mounted, inserts that can be adjusted in microns to produce surface finishes Rz ? 2.5 micron.

The recent introduction of the Mirrorworx face milling system by WNT is helping users to eliminate time consuming grinding operations To remain competitive UK manufacturing companies are being forced to investigate ways in which processes can be streamlined or eliminated

In introducing Mirrorworx to the UK market WNT is providing them with an opportunity to remove the requirement for time consuming and, therefore, costly grinding operations.

The Mirrorworx cutters, which are manufactured by Pokolm for WNT, range in size from 42 to 100mm diameter and feature through coolant and twin, face mounted, inserts that can be adjusted in the micron range to produce surface finishes Rz ? 2.5 micron.

Two precision screws located in the face of the cutter facilitate this adjustment.

The insert geometry and cutter body design also deliver a very 'smooth' cutting action, making the Mirrorworx system suitable for machining unstable workpieces and for use on machines with low spindle power. Request a free brochure from WNT (UK) ...
